WHAT TITLE VI ASKS YOU TO SHOW

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act requires meaningful access for people with limited English proficiency. In practice, most of the weight falls on documentation. An agency has to be able to show which materials were translated, who translated them, what review the work passed, and how interpreting was provided when someone walked in or called. A vendor who cannot produce that record leaves the agency to explain the gap.

Terminology drift does more damage than mistranslation. One department calls a benefit one thing, a second department calls it another, and a resident reading both concludes they are two different programs. Coverage is the other weak point.
