line

Are your translations done by machines or people?

Both. But all machine translations, if any, start and end with a real person. We work only with skilled native speaker translators who have a good understanding of cultural nuances specific to a country and language. To maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness, our translators also use Translation Memory technology to manage terminology glossaries that can be used across multiple projects.  Learn morearrow

How can I trust your translations are accurate and culturally relevant?

For over 20 years, we’ve made it our business to provide only the highest-quality translation by working with experienced, native-speaking translators who have a strong understanding of the culture and language. How do you choose your translators?

Dynamic works mainly with independent contractors and other companies who offer services specifically for language service agencies. Many of our translators have certifications from the American Translator Association (ATA). We also find translators with expertise in business, technical, medical and health care, legal, education, advertising and more. We also work with DSHS-certified translators (Dept. of Social & Health Services).

For each translation project, we carefully match a translator who is the right fit to meet the specific needs of your project, from their expertise to their language style.

How long does it take to translate documents? A website?

For every project, we strive for quick turnaround with a streamlined process that keeps our customers and the translators well informed.

Business cards and official documents can typically be done in 1-2 days. Larger projects may take our standard 3-5 days or up to a few weeks or months. We determine turnaround time based on word count and services necessary to complete your project. If you need a translation sooner than our estimated time, we can always accommodate you. Rush charges may apply.

For websites and products, it depends on the size and complexity of the project. Our Project Managers carefully plan a schedule and track progress to ensure results that are on time and on budget. Learn more about our processarrow

How important is a professional translator? Isn't it enough to have someone who is fluent in both languages?

A truly accurate translation requires more than translating words from one language to another. Professional translators are trained to convey the exact meaning and context implied in the original text, while using correct grammar and natural phrasing in their translation. Professional translators have the special skills and experience to create these clear and culturally accurate translations.

Additionally, professional translators specialize in various fields (e.g., legal, finance, business, medicine, etc.) and have expert knowledge of the related terminology. These experts also have access to many language industry resources such as glossaries, specialized dictionaries, industry termbases and translation tools (such as Translation Memory and glossary programs), all of which enhance the speed, accuracy and consistency of their work.

Does it make a difference if the translator is translating into a language that is not their native language?

Ideally, a translator should always translate into their native language, and possess a high degree of fluency in the source language of the original text. In order to convey the meaning accurately, they should have an intuitive understanding of the nuances of expression, grammar and phrasing in the target language, in order to avoid unclear or misleading translations. Typically, this means the translator should be a native speaker of the language, or have long-term experience with the language and culture.
